Is the maximum level cap raised? Those puppies are 5,000 times stronger per size.

Hey all! Just throwing this question out there. I still haven't read the books (I'll be getting to them soon!), but I was fortunate as a kid to go to the midnight showings of all Three LoTR movies. They are cemented into my memories as great fantastical happiness. Do you have more than one part of the story that you enjoy? Share here! For me... it is the fight with the Balrog. That is how I play Phantasia games! Just sayin'

This sounds very exciting. It was fun to read through all the evolution names just as much as I imagine they were to come up with. I am very curious if the shops sell Pokeballs so not only can you defeat the monsters, but you could collect them all! My brain is going off into a world where there is a game just like Phantasia5, except it's Pokemon.

Heya! On the game client page http://www.phantasia5.com/cgi-bin/p5_client.cgi When you scroll over the tab 'Game Info' and try to open any of the sub-categories it takes you straight back to the game client page.

Hey Kaynil! Don't worry so much! I'll try to provide some clarity for you, although you've hit the nail on the head already. Phantasia4 is the vanilla/original game, and the Clone games are derived from the original Phantasia4 sourcecode. When Phantasia4 came onto the scene it was difficult. (Comparable to D&D 3.5... low hp receiving moderate damage) The game updates since then have made it less painful for players, and makes all the classes more playable. The clone realms are the product of some of the best players in the vanilla game putting their spin on it to make it more interesting, more interactive, more better. I have only been able to get Realm of Warriors to work so far, and it is a very different experience from the original. It offers new classes with better stats and actions to perform in combat. It also encourages PvP by adding a Good and Evil character alignment. The game version reminds me of the hellish experience from my teenage years, and I have yet to stake a character's tombstone into the scoreboard. It also lacks any and all game information (WHY!), but it is interesting to discover the differences as I go along. .. My story in fortune cookie sized nutshells. Began playing in 2000 when I was 12. Played consistently for 4 years, returning after that occasionally for old times sake.----- Always getting my butt handed to me. Returned last year to seek redemption. Managed to do what I dreamed of as a 12 year old and achieved a constant state of happiness close to Nirvana. = ) .. Organized play should be a thing. It's random right now. I play mornings lately and Mon-Fri there is occasionally 1 other person on during that time. .. Don't be sorry Kaynil. If anyone were to get offended, it's because of them and not you. I'd write more, but this actually took me 40 minutes to type up. I nitpick my writing and I have to go bed now.

It's a whole new world! One even more unforgiving than the first! This game is really good Link. I love that any class can be Light or Dark. I faintly remember this game from my teenage years because it had the Saiyan class. It may have been the first game I reached a high level too. I will be spending a lot of time in this realm. Thanks! Do you think the inspiration for the Dark Souls games came from Phantasia?

I'll check that one out too. I tried to get the clones to work a few months ago, and couldn't get any except for the original phantasia java client to load... until yesterday. Lol I feel a compulsion to play all of the games now.

My mind is blown. Time to start over...

Hey guys. I had another idea today. I'm sure someone has thought of it before, but nonetheless... What if you could choose between good character classes and evil character classes. The evil character classes maybe just having a name change. Another monster list for evil players to fight, again it could just be name changes. It wouldn't make sense for an orc/ogre/troll to fight against his own allies. Different styled quests that are similar to the pre-existing ones for positions of power. Instead of unicorns with virgins, maybe feeding them to dragons could get you clues to finding a chest containing demonic speed (blessing). It could have more reliability when you have more sin. I don't have too much time to continue writing this at the moment. What are your thoughts?

Could there be color schemes for this game. Being able to change the Background color and text color would be cool. I think I remember some old Telnet programs that I would use that would allow for customization like that. Next level, incorporate a scheme that is locked until someone does a certain thing in the game. Maybe it is locked until someone defeats the dark lord then you can customize your colors again, until the timer is up and it goes back to default colors. Say 1 hour, 5 hours, 24 hours?

When you're playing Phantasia and... You create a new text document for every trove hunt. Desktop may as well be scratch paper.

I was thinking it would be cool if there could somehow be a way to attack things with a bow and arrow. I can't think of any way that would really work with this system unless you could shoot an arrow into a square and hopefully hit something? I think it would create an imbalance in PvP.. but the idea of someone going around PKing other players like a sniper is hilarious. You'd have to constantly try and jump on their square as they're running around frantically trying to take pot shots at you. Just a thought.

I have seen more and more dungeons and dragons things becoming popular within the last year or so. Maybe it's because it is what I'm interested in and that I actively seek out the information. I talk about it more in public with friends/strangers as well. Board games that are more complex and genius seem more easily available. (Example: I watch TableTop with Wil Wheaton on Youtube and I can find some of the games that he plays on that show in Walmart/Target.) Games for me are becoming more about a social experience with others rather than playing alone against a labyrinth of puzzles or playing competitive focused games. Cooperative game-play involves collaborative thinking (and again I can only speak for myself) it leads to creative thinking, new ideas, and makes it feel like my brain is growing from a source of entertainment. .. Phantasia4 is a simple game. Its looks are humbling and professional. The gameplay appears basic at first; grow levels by hunting monsters, get gold, buy better equipment, advance further into the realm. As the numbers increase, so must your knowledge about the game grow. That is when it gets really fun if you are interested in this fantasy genre. The entire game is based off of the Lord of the Rings world, all the monsters from the movies are in here, including the greatest evil powers within the Tolkien universe. With a little imagination, this game is an ongoing story for a battle of Middle Earth. .. Player to player interaction is in communication and combat at first. As you progress through the game you will discover new ways that you can affect other player characters as well. This game offers a place for people who share a common interest to talk to each other. Make friends. Roleplay. Share Ideas. Grow. The chat is a beautiful instant messenger. .. I believe this game has the potential to be popular. It's unique, the more people that play it the better the experience is. It's the first MMO I've ever played, and it is most certainly my favorite. It has changed a lot since I first started playing, and continues to evolve from the creativity and inspiration of the Game Wizards.

Hello Alakazam! I watch YouTube over traditional television. = )

Nice name! I looked it up and learned about The Blue Wizards. I'm going to go to the library and begin reading the books.

You start to fist-pump during fights with monsters. Trash talk included "Take that!... Yeah, Eat it!"

Give a shout when you get a chance. You can always try Link's method of using Internet Explorer... It's not quite the same playing field because he's a Linux wiz as opposed to us obsolete Window's users... or Mac if you are an artist. I imagine it will come up with the same error however, as it presents the same security features as Firefox. Double check your security settings within Firefox or other Web Browser as well. Sometimes an Ad Blocker is the case. I honestly think that the accessibility to this game is part of the reason why it isn't more popular. The friends I've shown (of the few I have) have declined playing this game when I tell them that I have to alter their security settings. Is there a way for you to make this game easier to access Link? Are there costs? Would it make the game more insecure to hackers? -

I uninstalled all Java from my computer and installed the most recent version. I can still get the applet to load. Can you upload a screenshot? I googled your error and it says that even with the latest version of java a self-signed application can be allowed via exceptions. -

On it. -
Usually that is a sign of your bad connection. I could log in on the game on my windows vps and check it 3 days later (if the game never crashed) and it would still be signed in It could be my connection. I don't have much knowledge working with modems so it has the settings from my ISP.
