Administrator Link Posted March 22, 2014 Administrator Share Posted March 22, 2014 Players of Phantasia, due to the dynamic nature of Phantasia and the inability for us to antispate and code in a restriction for every action or mis-action that you can make, we the Phantasia Game Wizards would like to set forth the following sets of policies to dictate propper behavior in the realm. Please take due notice thereof and govern yourselves accordingly.Policy #1: The Role of WizardsGame Wizards are ALWAYS right.Game Wizards are NEVER wrong. If a Game Wizard is ever not right, or wrong, see policy #1 bullets 1 and 2.Game Wizards are here to make the game interesting and challenging for players.Game Wizards are *NOT* here to babysit players.Game Wizards are *NOT* here to guide players through the challanging portions of the game. It is up to the general player population to share information amoungst itself and educate its own in how to deal with situations such as grailing, troving, finding and fighting the Tarrasque et cetera. Game Wizards may provide cryptic words of wisdom, but they shall not play the game for you.Game Wizards are here to enforce policies and make the game enjoyable for *ALL* players.Game Wizards are responsible for maintaining the game and making additions / modifications to keep the game alive.Game Wizards are responsible for hearing ideas either directly from the players, or relayed through Apprentices, and deciding if they should become part of the game. This does not mean that if you suggest that there should be a new race that it will suddenly appear, this means that it will be considered, and then accepted, rejected, or tabled for later addition.Game Wizards have the final word in all issues regarding Phantasia. The 'Mom and Pop' routine is not appreciated, nor tolerated.Game Wizards are ALWAYS right.Policy #2: The Role of ApprenticesApprentices speak with the voice and authority of the Game Wizards (This means that policy #1 bullets 1 and 2 apply to Apprentices as well)Apprentices are here to maintain good order in the realm.Apprentices are here to enforce policies and act as an intermediary between the Game Wizards and the players.Apprentices are *NOT* here to babysit players.Apprentices are responsible for keeping control of channel 1 conversations and keeping them within the reasonable bounds of established policies.Apprentices are responsible with relaying comments, questions, concerns, complaints, and ideas from the players to the Game Wizards.Apprentices are players too, they have the right to play the game and enjoy it. Thus, they do have the right to go 'off duty'.Policy #3: The Role of PlayersPlayers are here to enjoy the game.Players are *NOT* here to be babysat by Game Wizards or Apprentices.Players are responsible with complying with established policies.Players are responsible with reporting anything that they feel violates established game policies to the Game Wizards via an Apprentice, the posts 'Report' button, or by direct contact.Players are expected to submit any comments, questions, concerns, complaints, and ideas that they may have to the Game Wizards via an Apprentice, the posts 'Report' button, or by direct contact.Players are responsible with reading the Message Of The Day which is displayed upon character login for any announcements made by the Game Wizards.Policy #4: Interaction Between Players and AdministratorsGame Wizards are ALWAYS right.Decisions made by Game Wizards are final, there is no appeal.Apprentices speak with the voice and authority of the Game Wizards.Players who feel that the actions of an Apprentice or Game Wizard have been unjust or uncalled for can lodge a formal complaint with the Game Wizards via an Apprentice, the posts 'Report' button, or by direct contact. The actions in question shall be brought to review and proper action taken.Players who submit multiple and repeated complaints are far less likely to be taken seriously, it behooves the players to submit one complaint, and wait for judgement.Phantasia has been described in the past as a Fascist Dictatorship and an Oligarchy, this means that the decisions come from the top, and are final. We are not a Republic like the United States, we do not have a bill of rights, you do not have the right to "Free Speech" within Phantasia. We are a private organization with every right to censor your speech within our chat channel.Policy #5: Behavior on Channel 1Channel 1 is the default channel upon login, it is also the channel that the Game Wizards have decreed shall be kept PG-13.There is a chat filter in place on Channel 1 that replaces *MOST* vulgarities with 'smurf'. This does not mean that words not covered by the chat filter are okay to say. It is up to the whim of the Apprentice or Game Wizard involved as to what qualifies as PG-13 based upon but not restricted to the following guidelines:Anything covered under George Carlins 'dirty words you can't say on broadcast television'Any conversational topics that are racially, religiously, sexually, or just plain generally offensive.Any conversational topics that are belligerent and intent upon inciting violation of Phantasia Policies.Any conversational topics that promote illegal actions and or activities.Any outward solicitation and or advertisement of other games. We aren't an advert forum, thats what Apex Web Gaming is for, we are for playing. Mentioning you play another game is fine, informing other players of how much better another game is is not, soliciting others to go to it is not, take that to another channel. The Game Wizards reserve the right to at any time declare any actions taken in channel 1 to be unacceptable.Policy #6: Abuse of PlayersPhantasia is played by many kinds of players with different ideas of fun. Some players feel it is fun to abuse others. We do not tolerate this.Players who are found to be abusive based upon but not restricted to the following criteria shall be dealt with according to the whim of the Apprentice or Game Wizard involved:Excessive verbal heckling.Excessive and or repetitive use of negative realm powers (ie. Slap, Execrate, Blind, etc, etc)Excessive and or unfair player killing to include the practice of 'Making sure someone will never get past level 10 again', random player killing that detracts from game morale, and any attempts to kill or otherwise harm an Apprentice without their permission.Player killing is a part of Phantasia, if the Game Wizards did not intend for it to be part of the game, it would be removed.Players are responsible with taking appropriate action and defending themselves when attacked. There shall be no policy written that outlaws the act of player killing, or being a player killer, however the Game Wizards reserve the right to give directives to persons partaking in this part of the game.Negative realm powers (ie. Slap, Execrate, Blind, etc, etc) are also a part of Phantasia, if the Game Wizards did not intend for them to be part of the game, they would be removed. There shall be no policy written that outlaws the use of negative powers upon other players, however the Game Wizards reserve the right to give directives to persons partaking of this part of the game.Any player given a directive by a Game Wizard in regards to their player killing or negative power use is responsible with complying with said directive IMMEDIATELY.These directives are given with the general populace in mind and are not intended as a personal censure unless they are rejected by the player.Any player refusing to comply with a directive from the Game Wizards shall be dealt with in accordance with the whim of the Game Wizard involved. There shall be no appeal.Any player who feels the actions of another player violate the above policies are responsible with reporting said infractions to the Game Wizards via an Apprentice, the posts 'Report' button, or direct contact.'Abuse' is not a buzzword that will imediately get the Game Wizards to listen to your accusation. Players are to be responsible and realistic in their allegations. Any player found to be submitting excessive fraudulent reports of 'abuse' shall be delt with in accordance with the whim of the Game Wizard involved. There shall be no appeal. The Game Wizards reserve the right to ignore any allegations of abuse.Policy #7: Game Bugs, Loopholes, Oversights, GlitchesThe Game Wizards do hereby define the following terms:Bug - Something in the game isn't behaving the way it should due to misplaced commands and or typographical errors.Loophole - Something in the game is grossly misdesigned in a way that allows players to attain beyond reasonable gain.Oversight - A Game Wizard did not anticipate an eventuality of a change. NOTE: This does not mean they are wrong, they are still right, by definition.Glitch - Things just plain aren't right, something inexplicable is happening and there is absolutely no reason for it.Glitches, do not happen, stop saying things are glitched.Players are responsible with reporting any and all possible bugs, loopholes, or oversights they encounter to the Game Wizards through an Apprentice, the posts 'Report' button, or direct contact. Examples of the preceding are anything that grossly unbalances the game, provides an excessively easy route to what should be a challenging goal, things that crash or otherwise affect the Phantasia server itself, anything that just plain doesn't seem right.Players who fail to report any and all possible bugs, loopholes, or oversights they encounter shall be dealt with in accordance with the whim of the Game Wizard involved. There shall be no appeal. The Game Wizards reserve the right to revert a character to a point before any ill-gotten-gains procured from abuse of a loophole. The Game Wizards reserve the right to delete a character that has grossly gained from abused bugs and or loop holes. The Game Wizards reserve the right to leave a character as they are as a reward for creativity and correctly reporting a loophole.Policy #8: Character RestorationCharacters who die due to server error, gross oversights, and or the illegal abuse of other players are eligible for restoration in accordance with but not restricted to the following guidelines:Player must request a restoration within one week (seven days) of the characters death.Player must provide a description of what occurred to include a timestamp (for example: Sunday August 7th at 13:18 Eastern Standard Time) and *THE NAME OF THE CHARACTER* (While we Game Wizards are omnipotent and omniscient, we are far more likely to look kindly upon you if we have to do less research into your case)The character in question must be level 10 or higher. The character in question must have died due to server error, gross oversights, and or the illegal abuse of other players. Characters that die to what you as a player feel is unfair deaths (Blessing didn't give you the first hit, Thamaturgist transported you, etc) do not qualify.Players who request restorations that do not meet the above criteria shall be dealt with according to the whim of the Game Wizard involved. There shall be no appeal.Players who repeatedly request restorations that are not warrented will be banned. The Game Wizards are not always able to restore your character to exactly the state it died in, they will do their best to give it back to you in a playable state, it is the players responsibility to be mature and thankfull that it got restored at all.The Game Wizards reserve the right to deny any and all restoration requests.Policy #9: Calculators, Distributing ThereofThe Game Wizards do hereby define the term "Calculator" as any program, spreadsheet, script, template, or general playing aid that allows a player to punch numbers in, and get numbers out to aid them in game play. There shall be no policy written that outlaws the creation or use of Calculators.Any player can create a calculator for their own use, and their own use only.Any player found to be distributing calculators shall be dealt with according to the whim of the Game Wizard involved. There shall be no appeal.Any player who feels they have created a calculator which can be of general use to the Phantasia population without giving too much away, such as the post calculator which is available on the game page, can submit it to the Game Wizards via an Apprentice or direct contact. The Game Wizards reserve the right not to post any and all submitted calculators.Policy #10: GrailingThe act of grailing is a single player quest.Any player found to be grailing for another player shall be dealt with according to the whim of the Game Wizard involved. Those who seek power are the least fit to wield it.Policy #12: Character and Account NamesCharacter and account names are subject to the same restrictions as the language and content restrictions of channel one.Any player found to have a character name in violation of this policy will be instructed to suicide the character and select a new name.Any player refusing to do so, shall be forced to do so, and dealt with according to the whim of the Apprentice or Game Wizard involved.Any player who deliberately uses the name of another established player with the intent to withold it from them will be instructed to suicide the character and return the name.Any player refusing to do so, shall be forced to do so, and dealt with according to the whim of the Apprentice or Game Wizard involved.Any player found to have an account with a name in violation of this policy will be instructed to create a new account, and their old account shall be deleted by a Game Wizard. The Game Wizards reserve the right to at any time tell any player that any name is inapropriate and needs to be changed regardless of the history of past use of the name. The Game Wizards also reserve the right to allow any name regardless of its content.Policy #13: Forum BehaviorAll posts on the forum are subject to the same rules and regulations as channel 1 speech. When asking for help from the Wizards and/or Apprentices, please post it in a thread.
